{"id":4560,"date":"2021-08-18T17:45:58","date_gmt":"2021-08-18T17:45:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress-projects.wolfware.ncsu.edu\/bio-181l-zchxzbn\/?page_id=4560"},"modified":"2023-01-23T20:32:33","modified_gmt":"2023-01-23T20:32:33","slug":"lab-absences-f21","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/wordpress-projects.wolfware.ncsu.edu\/bio-181l-zchxzbn\/lab-absences-f21\/","title":{"rendered":"Lab Absences Sp2023"},"content":{"rendered":"<header class=\"entry-header\">\n<h1 class=\"entry-title\"><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: inherit;font-size: 20px\">Be successful in lab by following these policies for attendance.<\/span><\/h1>\n<\/header>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<header class=\"entry-header\">\n<h4 class=\"entry-title\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">NOTE: Please view the material under the menu heading, \u201cLab Course Format\u201d before you continue.<\/span><\/h4>\n<\/header>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Attendance in lab is required.\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">It is important that you attend the In-Lab session of lab each week and participate in group work.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Please contact your laboratory instructor as soon as possible (ASAP) if you need to miss a lab session, or are otherwise unable to complete any part of lab.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Arrangements may be made for make up work for legitimate and\/or documented <em>excused absences<\/em> due to illness or required University events.\u00a0 You have to coordinate this with your laboratory instructor within 24 hours (or in a timely manner) in order to be eligible to turn in graded work for a lab you did not attend.\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">The sooner you contact your instructor, the sooner they may be able to help you from falling behind.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li>If you have <strong>more than one (1) unexcused absence<\/strong> from the Laboratory, you will receive <strong>no credit<\/strong> for the laboratory portion of your entire BIO 181 lab grade.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">If you are unable to attend In-Lab part of lab, you will need to complete all of the In-Lab work on your own using the Online Module.\u00a0 You will need to clear this with your Lab TA so they can provide you with the In-Lab\u00a0 assignments to complete for an excused absence.\u00a0 These assignments will be due during your regular lab day and time unless you have a verified reason for an extension to the due date.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">The Pre-Lab Assignments should still be turned in at the start of your regular lab time, even if you miss the In-Lab.\u00a0 The Post-Lab Assignments will also be due within 48 hours of the scheduled lab start time.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Keeping up with assignment due dates will aid your understanding and progression with the materials in each lab unit.\u00a0 Many of these assignments build upon the skills and\/or materials presented in previously submitted work.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Please be sure to communicate any absence issues with your Lab TA in a timely manner. You may be asked to verify your absence using the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/dasa.ncsu.edu\/support-and-advocacy\/find-help\/absence-verification\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NC State Absence Verification Service<\/a>\u00a0in order to be allowed\u00a0to turn in assignments outside of the regular due dates.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Be successful in lab by following these policies for attendance.
