{"id":1690,"date":"2020-08-09T11:57:15","date_gmt":"2020-08-09T15:57:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wordpress-projects.wolfware.ncsu.edu\/bio-183-lab-yhnn8gz\/?page_id=1690"},"modified":"2023-01-19T13:55:12","modified_gmt":"2023-01-19T18:55:12","slug":"online-excused-absence-information","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/wordpress-projects.wolfware.ncsu.edu\/bio-183-lab-yhnn8gz\/online-excused-absence-information\/","title":{"rendered":"In Person Excused Absence Information"},"content":{"rendered":"<header class=\"entry-header\">\n<h1 class=\"entry-title\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Absences with In Person Labs<\/span><\/h1>\n<\/header>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<header class=\"entry-header\">\n<h4 class=\"entry-title\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">Be successful in lab by following these policies for attendance:<\/span><\/h4>\n<\/header>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<ul>\n<li>Keeping up with lab each week will aid your understanding and progression with the materials in each lab unit.<\/li>\n<li>All assignments are due at the <strong>start<\/strong> of lab or as indicated on the Lab Schedule.\u00a0 \u00a0Late work will only be accepted in a timely manner for extenuating\/documented circumstances that are approved by your TA at the time of your absence (not weeks later).<\/li>\n<li>Attendance and participation in lab is required.\u00a0 Please contact your laboratory instructor as soon as possible if you need to miss a lab session, or are otherwise unable to complete any part of lab.\u00a0 The sooner you contact your instructor, the sooner they may be able to help you to make sure you do not fall behind.<\/li>\n<li>It is important that you attend your scheduled lab session each week and participate in group work.\u00a0 <em>Due to the pandemic, we will not reschedule students into other lab sections for make up labs.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/li>\n<li>If you are unable to attend your scheduled lab, contact your TA for permission to complete the Online Make Up Lab Module.\u00a0 You may be asked to verify your absences using the <a href=\"https:\/\/dasa.ncsu.edu\/support-and-advocacy\/find-help\/absence-verification\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NC State Absence Verification Service<\/a> in order to be allowed to turn in assignments outside of the regular due dates.\u00a0 Unexcused late work will not be graded.\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #000000\"><em>All submitted materials must be formatted either in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, JGP images.<\/em><\/span><\/li>\n<li>If you have more than 1 (one) unexcused absence from the laboratory, you will receive no credit for the laboratory portion of your entire BIO 183 course grade.<\/li>\n<li>If the University decides we need to move all labs online, we will hold lab live via Zoom during our regular scheduled day and time.\u00a0 Attendance and participation in these zoom labs will also be required.\u00a0 More instruction will follow if this occurs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please be sure to communicate any absence issues with your Lab TA in a timely manner (24 hours).
