Teaching Online Pathway

The Teaching Online Pathway includes professional development opportunities in which faculty gain knowledge and skills to design and teach online courses. Faculty can choose from three points of entry within the Teaching Online Pathway based on rigor and time commitment. Completion of each pathway option offers a digital credential for faculty. What do I receive for completion?

Upon completion of each option, faculty receive a digital credential in the form of a badge that can be displayed as part of an email signature, instructor block in Moodle, faculty profile page, etc. These credentials indicate mastery of online teaching concepts. To receive recognition and digital credential at each level, faculty will submit a completion form.

Faculty who enroll in the Teaching Online Certificate program will also receive a $2,000 award, a Certificate of Completion, and notification to their Department Chair and College Dean.

The Teaching Online Pathway does not result in QM recognition or certification for a course. Faculty who wish to have their course reviewed with QM standards must first teach the course a minimum of two times online, after which they can apply to either the QM Essentials or QM Certification pathway.
