Project – Natural Resources Measurements – Spring 2022<\/span><\/h2>\n

Each year, students in this course complete a service-learning project with a community partner. \u00a0Project information is provided on this page. Past projects\u00a0are documented below.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

For 2022, Raleigh Parks have agreed to work with us and have suggested a number of potential measurements projects.\u00a0 If none of these interest you, you are welcome to pursue anything that excites you – especially if you can get a number of other people to work along with you.\u00a0 But you have to decide quickly, because a semester is shorter than you think.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Key elements of a successful project include defining clearly the objective; area to be measured; whether it\u2019s a sampling or mapping approach (or a bit of both); selecting needed sampling plans and measurement techniques; collecting, organizing, storing, analyzing data; displaying results in graphic and tabular form; providing a written report; providing an oral report; and teaching the rest of the class about what you\u2019re doing.<\/span><\/p>\n
