GCSP-REU (Research Experiences for Undergraduates)<\/h2>\n

Are you interested in undergraduate research opportunities to solve one of the Grand Challenges of engineering? This research experience for undergraduates (GCSP-REU) is a funded semester long program (Fall, Spring or Summer) hosted by the NC State University College of Engineering \u2013 Office of Academic Affairs.\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

The GCSP-REU program is aimed at providing high-quality research experience along with strong research mentoring support to help Grand Challenges Scholars navigate the research experience and develop research skills and confidence during the process. Selected GCSP participants who meet all deadlines and requirements will receive up to $3,000 stipend<\/span> for program participation for either Fall or Spring semesters or up to $6,000 stipend<\/span> for program participation for the Summer.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Eligibility Requirement for Each Semester<\/h3>\n

For Grand Challenges<\/strong> applicants and active <\/strong>scholars<\/strong> who are have an research mentor and are interested in receiving a paid stipend for the Fall or Spring research experience for undergraduates (REU).<\/p>\n

For Fall REU, <\/strong>apply HERE <\/a>\u00a0by<\/span> August 1, 11:59PM.<\/strong><\/p>\n

For Spring REU, <\/b>apply HERE<\/a> by<\/span>\u00a0December 1, 11:59PM.<\/strong><\/p>\n

For Summer REU<\/strong>, <\/b>apply HERE<\/a> by<\/span> March 15, 11:59PM.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Priorities are given to scholars who have not received any prior GCSP-REU funding and who have identified and secured a research mentor for the semester! All applicants will be notified of the award decision by the census date<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Summer GCSP-REU<\/h2>\n<\/header>\n

The duration of the summer research experience is 10 weeks. For Summer 2026, May 26-July 31, 2026 and requires your in-person<\/strong><\/span> attendance to our weekly Friday meetings scheduled 12-1:30PM.<\/em><\/p>\n
