Careers in Grand Challenges.\" width=\"500\" height=\"459\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wordpress-projects.wolfware.ncsu.edu\/nae-grand-challenges-zg7so3u\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/101\/2022\/07\/Entrepreneurship.png 737w, https:\/\/wordpress-projects.wolfware.ncsu.edu\/nae-grand-challenges-zg7so3u\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/101\/2022\/07\/Entrepreneurship-300x275.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Scholars choosing any one of the following options toward the\u00a0Entrepreneurship and Viable Business Model competency\u00a0<strong>must<\/strong>\u00a0substantiate and contextualize how the course\u2019s subject matter, approach, and\/or learning objectives advanced their understanding of their chosen Grand Challenge.<\/p>\n<h3>Entrepreneurship at NC State<\/h3>\n<p>Courses offered by Entrepreneurship at NC State\u00a0apply toward developing the competency, including the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/eep.ncsu.edu\/\" target=\"\u201c\u201d_blank\u201d\u201d\" rel=\"\u201cnoopener\u201d noopener\">Engineering Entrepreneurship Program<\/a>\u00a0as the senior capstone design project.<\/p>\n<h3>Business Entrepreneurship Minor from Poole College of Management<\/h3>\n<p>The purpose of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/catalog.ncsu.edu\/undergraduate\/management\/mie\/business-entrepreneurship-minor\/\">Minor in Business Entrepreneurship<\/a>\u00a0is to engage students in the process of identifying, evaluating, and implementing business opportunities that focus on value creation.<\/p>\n<h3>Arts Entrepreneurship Minor from Division of Academic and Student Affairs<\/h3>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/catalog.ncsu.edu\/undergraduate\/university-college\/music\/arts-entrepreneurship-minor\/\" target=\"\u201c\u201d_blank\u201d\u201d\" rel=\"\u201cnoopener\u201d noopener\">Minor in Arts Entrepreneurship<\/a>\u00a0introduces students to a variety of methods arts entrepreneurs employ to make decisions about, plan, execute and sustain an arts or arts-related venture.<\/p>\n<h3>Nonprofit Studies Minor from the Institute of Nonprofits<\/h3>\n<p>The interdisciplinary\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/catalog.ncsu.edu\/undergraduate\/humanities-social-sciences\/interdisciplinary\/nonprofit-studies-minor\/\" target=\"\u201c\u201d_blank\u201d\u201d\" rel=\"\u201cnoopener\u201d noopener\">Minor in Nonprofit Studies<\/a>\u00a0is designed to prepare students for careers in the nonprofit and social sectors, in both paid and volunteer positions.<\/p>\n<h3>Minors in Military Studies and ROTC Programs<\/h3>\n<p>Every branch of the U.S. military is represented on NC State\u2019s campus and can offer\u00a0Scholars both military studies as well as\u00a0practical military training that address\u00a0how the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/army.dasa.ncsu.edu\/\" target=\"\u201c\u201d_blank\u201d\u201d\" rel=\"\u201cnoopener\u201d noopener\">Army<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/naval.dasa.ncsu.edu\/\" target=\"\u201c\u201d_blank\u201d\u201d\" rel=\"\u201cnoopener\u201d noopener\">Navy, Marines<\/a>, and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/airforce.dasa.ncsu.edu\/\" target=\"\u201c\u201d_blank\u201d\u201d\" rel=\"\u201cnoopener\u201d noopener\">Air Force<\/a>\u00a0have and will develop viable, real-world approaches to the Grand Challenges. The military studies minors are separate and independent of participation in any of the ROTC programs. However, ROTC cadets can easily add on a military studies minor to their engineering major.<\/p>\n<h3>Career Development Center: Co-Op Program<\/h3>\n<p>Grand Challenges Scholars can opt to join the Cooperative Education program and register for COP courses.
