Student Organization Council

The Grand Challenges Scholars Program at NC State is an academic enrichment opportunity sponsored and administered by the Office of Academic Affairs in the College of Engineering. However, the Grand Challenges Scholars Council is a registered student organization that is affiliated with GCSP with the purpose to further the mission of the National Academic of Engineering. While the role of council members closely mirrors those of executive officers within student clubs, the council operates within a shared leadership model and functions as a student advisory board to the program.

The Scholars Council is responsible for:

  • Recruiting interested, highly-motivated candidates from across the College of Engineering.
  • Fostering a sense of community among scholars.
  • Facilitating identification of mentors and research opportunities for new scholars.
  • Advocating for new or improved ways to engage scholars in developing competencies, leadership, service, and engagement.

Scholars, seek out your council members if you have question, need advice, or want to deepen your engagement in the GCSP at NC State!
