To remain in the program, a GC Scholar must abide by the following minimum standards of the NAE Grand Challenges Scholars Program at NC State to remain active and in good standing while completing the program:
- Maintain an academic status of Good Standing. See REG 02.05.01 Continuation of Undergraduate Enrollment.
- Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress toward an engineering degree. See REG 02.05.03 Satisfactory Academic Progress.
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Abide by NCSU’s Student Code of Conduct.
- Meet at least once each fall and spring semester with their GC Mentor.
- Identify and obtain mentorship within a maximum of two (2) semesters during provisional acceptance into the program.
- Regularly attend mandatory meetings, events, and programming throughout the academic year. Planned as well as unforeseen absences must be communicated with the program in a timely manner.
Violations or an inability to maintain these minimum standards may result in dismissal from the program.
