Grand Challenge Focus: Engineer the Tools of Scientific Discovery
Grand Challenge Theme: Joy of Living

I am driven by a passion for pushing the boundaries of knowledge through research and making a positive impact on the well-being of society. By focusing on Engineering the Tools of Scientific Discovery, I am able to immerse myself in biomaterials studies and research, using characterization, synthesis, and testing of materials to ultimately improve the sustainability and quality of healthcare tools and techniques. In addition to being a Grand Challenges Scholar, I am a MSE Student Ambassador, the secretary of the Club Softball Team at NCSU, and a member of the Student Wolfpack Club and the Society of Women Engineers (SWE). I have also completed 3 semesters of research in the Movement Biomechanics Lab at NCSU, where I have gained experience with equipment set up, human subject data collection, MATLAB coding, as well as written and oral communication skills.
