Advising Process for Fall Classes
New, incoming students in the College of Engineering (Engineering First-Year Students, EFY) are advised and prepared for Fall registration through a process that utilizes online modules, informational websites, and drop-in Zoom advising sessions. Students will not meet individually with an academic advisor during the summer registration process.
EFY students will be emailed at their NC State email account about advising and registration details in early May. Additional details about this process can be found on the Summer Pre-Registration Process page.
Academic advising holds for students will be released within 24-48 hours after they complete their advising modules. The deadline to complete the advising modules is May 29th. For students who complete the modules after May 29th, holds will be released within three business days of module completion.
You can add courses to the cart and change them before your enrollment date. However, without removing the advising hold, you will not be able to enroll on those classes on your assigned registration date. Additional schedule changes can be made as needed for the remainder of the summer.
